another study of Joanna, this one done just with charcoal, 2 different kinds of charcoal pencil, kept trying to make it darker to match the values (I worked from a photo reference) kept not getting there, til I gave up. it's not bad, but, I can't rest on my laurels, I can do better. this is actually my first all charcoal pic I think, so I shouldn't be too hard on myself I guess. also used stump and tissue for smudgery. tissue rocks!
